Coaches

NEW COACHING RULE

"All ice hockey coaches and instructors of registered USA Hockey youth, high school, disabled, girls/women's 19 & under and below programs MUST wear an approved ice hockey helmet during all on-ice sessions, including practices, controlled scrimmages and coaches and referee clinics (seminars)."

It is the duty and responsibility of the Local Programs to comply and enforce this USA Hockey requirement.
Local Programs will be held accountable for enforcement.
Local Programs may adopt more severe penalties.

Penalty (for non-compliance)

Coach/Instructor:

1ST Offense: Warning
2nd Offense: One (1) game suspension
3rd & additional Offense: Automatic, immediate suspension pending a disciplinary hearing by the Affiliate (RIAHA)

Local Programs (for improper oversight)

1st Offense: Warning
2nd & Additional Offense: Local Programs will be considered not in good standing with the Affiliate (RIAHA) [therefore not in good standing with USA Hockey] pending a disciplinary hearing by the Affiliate. (RIAHA)

NOTE: Disciplinary Hearing must be held within thirty (30) days of notification of the violation
